Roswell Park is known for its work with complex and rare cancers such as mesothelioma. It is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and a participant in the Cancer Immunotherapy Trials Network. A member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, many Roswell Park faculty members serve on the panels responsible for creating that body’s oncology clinical practice guidelines — an internationally recognized and esteemed set of standards for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Roswell Park distinguishes itself as a leader in surgical robotics and in the development and testing of new agents and technology; it made significant contributions to the landmark human genome project. Roswell Park’s Center for Pharmacology and Therapeutics also stands apart by being one of the few centers in the nation capable of taking drug development from the conceptual stage through manufacturing and testing.
