Research efforts are organized around six or more multidisciplinary research programs covering basic cancer science and clinical translational studies; strong emphasis on clinical trials.

Clinic at-a-glance:

This is a university-based comprehensive cancer center, the only one in the region. It integrates all cancer treatment, research and education conducted at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine and within the University of Miami Health System. The care offered is delivered using the multidisciplinary model. The Sylvester Center boasts superbly trained nurse navigators who help patients access the right physicians and stay on track through complex treatment protocols. The center is heavily invested in support services that include counseling, advice about complementary and alternative therapy options, diet and exercise, and access to physical rehabilitation, pain management and palliative care.
